HeartStream Education is a non-profit organization that works with corrections professionals to create institutional settings where incarcerated men and women have opportunities to make positive choices that will increase the likelihood of successful
re-entry into society.
Unquestionably, people are changed by incarceration. Many are hardened by the experience and face release with fewer personal resources to function as effective citizens than when they entered. Others emerge from the ordeal with an increased sense of personal responsibility and the resolve and capacity to take steps toward creating a new future for themselves.
HeartStream envisions a future where people who are incarcerated experience their confinement as a crucible that refines them and prepares them for responsible, crime-free living when they are released.
We strive to manifest this future by cooperating with leaders in corrections who are committed to maximizing the possibility for constructive change within the constraints of maintaining a secure custody environment. We do this by offering resources for institutional development and transformational programs for prisoners.
HeartStream Education is recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization.
